I just signed a contract for our windows to be replaced with impact windows. Yes, there was discussion about the possible of increase of sales value to our home should we decide to sell one day. And I feel, that value depends on the buyer. Does it increase the appeal? I think yes. For me I personally get tired of climbing a ladder putting up shutters 18t from the ground and taking them down again. Its a pain… and its actually a relief paying someone 250-500.00 to do it. Regardless of the cost, I think its worth it knowing I don’t have to worry about it anymore, and knowing that my wife feels safe and is happy.

When it was time for him to move to an assisted living home his home had appreciated considerably in the last few years and he was able to make the move with lots of cash. In his case it was a good move, but to be fair he didn’t really expect to walk away with any money. It was only after his daughter contacted me and we did some research did we find out the real situation. He was going to surrender his home back to the mortgage company. It was over $200k in equity.

Hi Michael, there could be numerous reasons why agents aren’t showing your home. If your home is currently listed with an agent I highly recommend asking them this question. Every situation is different and your agent should be able to tell you exactly why you home has been sitting on the market; pricing, condition, location, market conditions, etc.
